Set at the end of the 19th Century, Amelia Rovira, daughter of one of the wealthiest families in Barcelona, longs to work for the leading Parisian fashion designers. Against her relatives' wishes, she decides to follow her dream and finds herself implicated in the both anarchist and Cuban independence movements. Amidst great social upheaval, her desire to be an independent woman shows the sharp divide between rich and poor.
